Great Wi-Fi needs a spot to mount it and a way to power it.

A wireless access point is only useful where you can place it and power it. Power over Ethernet puts data and power on one cable, so placement is not tied to an outlet.

Without itYou hunt for an outlet near every spot you want coverage, and a separate power supply sits at each one.
